Day 6 and the end of TF (RIP)!!!

Howdy! Howdy! Howdy!!!

Well day six is upon us and unfortunately this will be the end of this program. :-D Will explain more in the exercise section! Can't believe today is only Saturday. So happy this is a long weekend and that I don't have to go to work on Monday! SO happy. Mark spent the day helping Pastor Gary, with Living Stones International, get their home closer to the finish line. He was gone pretty much all day over at their house and (yes I am totally using this as an excuse) as a result.. I didn't know if I would be able to get my work out in today. Today is Legs and Back and it requires a chin up bar. The only chin up bar is in Marks room... which is not user friendly when the DVD is downstairs. But Mark came home and rigged up an A-MAYzing pulley system in the living room so that I can use my resistance bands as my pull up system (Because goodness knows there is NO way I can do a chin up right now.).

EXERCISE!!!!

Okeedokee... So.. after much back and forth, I finally got around to doing my P90x exercise for the day. I really did try to come up with reasons as to why I couldn't do it today (No chin up bar, getting too late, Mark is watching TV and I don't want to bother him). Lucky for me, Mark is a great accountability partner and encouraged me  to get it going. And since he took the time to hook up my uber cool pulley system, I really had no reason not to begin. So legs and back followed by ARX commenced. Holy moly.... I FREAKING LOVED LEGS AND BACK!!!! I know it seems like I have been saying this about every P90 exercise (except for Core and ARX) but I REALLY REALLY enjoy the strength training exercises. So as I am working out (and can I just add that I gave 9.5 towards intensity), I am thinking about how much I really LOVE these kind of workouts. They aren't cardio based but I still get some cardio. I have found myself DREADING Turbo Fire days. I mean really and truly dreading. And when I have been doing the TF workouts, I have only been giving around 3 in intensity. So... it dawned on me... If I am going to truly get into this program, I need to ensure it is going to be something I am going to give my all. So.. effective Monday, I will start doing P90x Lean. This will extend about a month beyond the wedding but I can make this work. I am super excited about this change. I figure I can do TF during the day to get well versed and more adjusted with the routines but it will be an addition as opposed to the core routine.

Following Legs and Back was Ab Ripper X. Just found out today that if you let the video play on after the core routine, ARX automatically starts. What a bonus. I had been physically placing the disk in every time I needed to do it. Was so happy with my ARX routine today. I attempted every single exercise and while I still did not make it to the full 25 each.... I did manage to do 154 ab exercises. Woo to the HOO!!!!! I am LOVING this. My first shake of the day did not come until around 7:30 pm but boy howdy was it delicious.

Heard about this really cool new Beachbody program starting up in February called the 21 Day Fix. It looks AWESOME! I really cannot wait to be able to do this workout. It consists of a variety of workouts that run for 30 minutes per day. You do one each day (7 days a week). In addition to the exercises that work all your parts, it also focuses on clean eating and portion control. It comes with portion control containers. If you can't fit in the container... you can't eat it. I love the idea as portion control has been a really big step in eating healthy forever.. not just for right now. We focus so much on not overeating bad foods but we sometimes fail to realize that we can and often do overeat on healthy foods. Very stoked to start this soon.

Grub a dub dub!!!

Well, as for food today... I woke up STARVING. I mean I was so hungry. I felt that I could eat everything in the fridge. I had a bowl of cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blend rocks my face off), 1/2 half grapefruit, a few bites of my leftover steak from last night, a few slices of swiss cheese, and I swear I could have eaten more....  I swear.. those morning protein shakes really do fill you up. I saved my normal eggs and sausage for lunch along with my coffee. After my workout I found myself not hungry at all. I am still working on my bowl of quinoa (but as I am having to watch this stupid, ridiculous, horrendous movie (Paranormal Activity 4), I am finding it hard to swallow anything. I killed it in my workout tonight and according to my nifty BB calorie counter, I burned almost 600 calories. This leaves me some wiggle room in the event I find myself hungry (not seeing it right now). My water intake was ok (nights not over) with 4 cups. My coke zero increased today to 3 cans. I will say though that my night time coke zeros have not been emptied. In the morning I am finding I am throwing away a half a can. This is pretty cool.

MINDSET!!!

I gotta say that mentally I remain pumped up. Now that I have entered my new routine of P90x Lean... I am even more excited. I have been pushing myself more and more and feel so full of energy and motivation. I am loving this!!!!
