Day ONE!

Alarm clock started ringing at 06  hundred. The normal Liz would have hit snooze until around 8:00 but not this morning. Out of bed I jumped (ok.. well... rolled) and then got immediately into my work out clothes to minimize the chances of me pouring myself back into my warm bed, much to the dismay of my puppies.

I thought Mark was going to have heart failure when he opened his bedroom door to see me in the hallway getting ready to go downstairs. Hilarious!!

Well, today was Core Synergistics. I had never done this one before and didn't pre-watch like I would normally do to help prepare so wasn't sure what to expect. All I can say is YIKES!!!

This video is all about working the core muscles. Core stomach, core hip, core pinky toe..... I swear I don't know what Tony had in mind prior to making this video. The workout consists of about 22 exercises. The break down was like this....

Warm UP: Yup... looking back.. this might have been my favorite part and I probably should have hit STOP after this as it only got worse.

1. Stack Foot Push Ups:  Left toe on heel of right toe, stagger hands, five reps and then switch. Did not do the forty reps but did a few. These kind of sucked.. especially for my non coordinated self.
2. Banana Rolls: 5 count, four positions. Basically your body is in plank and you roll with your entire body straight (back, side, front, side).
3. Leaning Crescent Lunges: DEEP lunge with weights. Ok. done giving descriptions. Will just snapshot how I did.
4. Squat Run: not horrendous.
5. Sphinx Push Ups: Yeah... Dream on....
6. Bow to Boat: Roll, flip, hold, roll, pain, hold, flip. I really enjoyed watching this one.
7. Low Lateral Skaters: Not horrible horrible....
8. Lunge and Reach: Actually enjoyed these.
9. Prison-Cell Pushups: Reason number 556 why I would NEVER make it in prison. All I can say about this one is and I mean this sincerely....  I HATE THIS EXERCISE.
10. Side Hip Raise: OUCH
11. Squat X Press: May not have been bad if I could stop hitting myself with my bands.
12. Plank to Chaturanga Run: Let's just call this Plank standing and leave it at that. We can just forget about the Chaturanga AND the run portion.
13. Walking Push Up: After the last exercise... this one was like a walk on a beach holding hands with Ryan Reynolds.
14. Superman Banana: MORE rolling and flipping. Good thing I have no boobs.
15. Lunge, Kickback, Curl Press: Probably my favorite exercise next to the Warm Up and Cool Down.
16. Towel Hopping: Wouldn't have been so bad.... if the other 14 exercises weren't present.
17. ..... And there were several more exercises after this one and I must say... they were enjoyable to watch but my fingers are hurting now and I don't want to give anyone the idea that I actually DID all of the exercises at this point. By my calculations... the next time I see this disk it will be in my transition phase in like two months. PRAISE GOD!

I have to say... I FELT AMAZING AFTER WORKING OUT!! Really, truly, amazing. I think it was the mix of the early morning, with the blood flowing, combined with that super duper warm shower following the exercises. And after the yummy protein shake my roomy old pal made me, I swear I think I floated out the front door!

Regarding food... I did pretty well. I am tracking my food (until I get a gauge on caloric regularity) on My Fitness Pal (switched from Tap N Track). I had a good breakfast (eggs and turkey sausage, and only one coffee with a splash of creamer). Lunch was the quinoa dish I basically live on now, sans the feta. Dinner was six slices of rolled turkey with Swiss cheese. I had three Coke Zero's (one of which was with Vanilla Vodka, of which I am currently drinking). My water intake was FANTASTIC and happy to say I met my goal. Our mail ordered protein won't be here for a week so I had to go to the Vitamin Shoppe to get some of my favorite Optimum Nutrition Rocky Road flavored Whey Protein because Mark's Casein Protein is designed for people with stomachs that can handle anything (toxins, garbage, battery acid, etc). I don't know how he can drink it multiple times a day. What a warrior.

Mark took the starting pictures. I am not ready to post them at this time. They are ssscccccary but part of my accountability is to own where I am right now so they will be coming one of these days!

Tomorrow is Fire 30 with Stretch 10. Love me some Turbo Fire!!! Until tomorrow!!!! If anyone gets the urge to join me.... C'mon and let's do it do it do it!!!
